The Best Kept Secret In Delaware.
Youth sports have shifted from a scholastic, seasonal-based activity to a year-round, club-based model. The Nighthawks were founded as a Scholastic organization but due to demand, grew to become a year-round club-based program. The Nighthawks offer the best of both worlds, allowing players to participate seasonally or year-round. We encourage everyone to participate in other sports outside of hockey as it is essential for skill development as well as preventing player burnout.
Summer Learn-To-Play
Wilmington Nighthawks Summer Learn-to-Play program starts July 25th! We're excited to be able to offer 8 hours of ice time, access to discounted equipment through Pure Hockey, and a $250 credit towards equipment for first time players all for $250! This is a great way to get started with hockey and be ready for the season starting in the fall. Details are below with a link to registration.
Please remember players should have some skating experience prior to this program.
The Skating Club is offering a Learn-to-Skate Hockey Edition starting June 13th that finishes just before Learn to Play. Sign up for Skating Lessons here (skatewilm.com). Registration for LTP below!
The $250 equipment credit is valid for LTP equipment from Pure Hockey through a link provided after registration. Register by 7/1/25 to order and receive equipment in time for the LTP program. LTP equipment does not include a cup or neck guard which will need to be purchased separately for ~$50. A jersey will be provided by the Nighthawks.
USA Hockey registration is required and additional cost that varies by player age. Valid for the entire 2025-26 season. Available here: https://membership.usahockey.com

2025-2026
Scholastic Season Registration
Along side our travel teams we offer players to represent their schools scholastically under the Nighthawk umbrella.
Our Middle School program typically has two teams, North and South. The North team is typically players who play travel hockey and are looking for another opportunity for ice. The South team is for players who might be newer to organized hockey but not want to make the full jump/commitment to the travel schedule.
The Nighthawks represent the Brandywine School District in the DHSHL. These schools include Archmere Academy, Augustine Hills, Brandywine HS, Concord Christian Academy, Concord HS, Mt. Pleasant HS, St. Elizabeth School & Wilmington Friends. Players can still play for the Nighthawks HS team even if they do not attend one of these schools but live in the geographical boundaries of BSD.
